Não deixa de ser curiosa a obsessão insistente que certos trogloditas progressistas têm com os grupos organizados de fiéis católicos tradicionais, tanto os da FSSPX como os da "Ecclesia Dei": se porventura fossem tais grupos tão insignificantes como aqueles trogloditas o pretendem, perderiam os mesmos tanto tempo com eles? Claro que não!
O problema dos progressistas é bem outro: estão com muito medo! Um trecho da notável conferência a que assisti ontem pela manhã em Fátima, proferida pelo fundador e superior dos Cónegos Regulares de São João Câncio, Padre Frank Phillips, acerca dos efeitos da promulgação do "Summorum Pontificum" na vida da Igreja, sistematiza bem esta situação. Comentando a oposição dos progressistas a tal promulgação, afirmou aquele sacerdote:
What is the bottom line with this outrageous opposition? I believe the liberal or more progressive element in the church, which has nearly run the church into the ground, is afraid. They are all getting old and everything they promoted seems to be vaporizing in front of their eyes. They are afraid that people may actually be drawn to the Traditional Mass and heaven forbid, may catch on and grow. I know in my own experience when young couples attend the Traditional Mass, they say "Why were we not taught this?" The same holds true for the teaching of the faith, I hear over and over, when preparing couples for mariage, "Why were we not taught this?"
